Hi Lis,
This is a fascinating subject. I have always maintained that the flooring industry -carpet, in particular- has not advertised effectively to their female market. Too much has been done relative to technology and not enough aimed at home fashion. Certainly this all goes back to the basic tenet of “know your market!”

hello – is it just me !! can any one explain why when i type in the firefox browser “lisbethcalandrino.com” i get a different site yet whe i type it in google its ok? could this be a bug in my system or is any one else having same probs ?

Hi Lisbeth, Thank you for the great tips. I work for a small retail flooring store in Michigan and it has been a stuggle for the past couple of years. I love the idea of asking customer to post about products they love on facebook page. We are slowly building a great page but find it difficult to come up with ideas to interact with customers.I will definitly ask them to share comments about our store with their FB friends. I just read this and think it is a wonderful footnote to this article. It has to do with what Gen Y’s impact is on the workplace. I found some very valuable insights as to how they look at work ethic, home, loyalty, money recognition, etc. Gives me a better understanding where they are coming from and as a Boomer, I need that!

I am always amazed at people of any age saying “I hope this passes so I don’t have to learn it!” I understand, technology IS intimidating, but it’s here to stay.

I have found that those younger than myself are happy to share and teach me what I don’t know. And once in a great while they pick something up from me, ha!

Thanks Lis, this is going in my file for when I’m feeling old and crusty and need some deliming!
